Let’s talk about the new Redmagic 11 Air—claiming “Air” status, but is it really floating on cloud nine or just a bit full of hot air? At 8mm thick and weighing in at 207g, it’s certainly slimmer than its liquid-cooled cousin, the 11 Pro, but let’s not pretend it’s hitting iPhone Air levels just yet with its hefty 5.6mm and 165g.

Sure, it packs a punch with a robust 7,000mAh battery and a built-in fan, making it svelte for a gaming phone, but don’t expect it to fit snugly in your skinny jeans or your idea of a featherweight device.

While the 11 Air may strut around like it’s on a confidence high from a double espresso, it’s really just maintaining its size compared to the previous 10 Air. It’s a bit like that friend who calls themselves ‘fit’ only because they skip dessert.

In the end, the Redmagic 11 Air might be an improvement in terms of gaming performance, but let’s give credit where it’s due and admit that it’s not exactly airy-fairy. Would you still call it an ‘Air’ phone, or should they consider a rebrand?

Let the debates commence!
