In a twist that feels ripped straight from a sci-fi flick, Meta is putting the pedal to the metal and testing out AI-enabled job interviews. That’s right, folks; soon, your coding interview may include a virtual assistant that’s more helpful than the last three team members you had to work with.

According to a report by 404 Media, candidates might find themselves using an AI assistant to help them tackle coding challenges. Imagine that—a friendly digital buddy sitting next to you as you try to ferret out your best coding self while the hiring manager watches anxiously like a referee during a championship match.

Meta’s spokesperson assured us that this isn’t just about throwing fancy tech at the interview process. “We’re obviously focused on using AI to help engineers with their day-to-day work, so it should be no surprise that we’re testing how to provide these tools to applicants during interviews,” they said.

But let’s pause for a moment—how far are we willing to go in our tech-dependent society? Are we prepping job seekers for success, or spawning a new generation of AI-whisperers? One thing’s for sure: Soon candidates might spend more time getting cozy with their AI sidekick than actually sipping on that nerves-wracking interview coffee.

What do you think—will AI make hiring easier, or are we just setting ourselves up for the first wave of robot overlords who don’t even need a resume?
