Picture this: Elon Musk striding into Apple HQ, his eyes gleaming with the mischievous spark of a kid who just discovered bubble wrap. Years ago, he reportedly approached Apple with a tantalizing offer involving satellites and iPhones that could’ve redefined connectivity.

According to some juicy insider gossip, Musk laid it all out—a staggering $5 billion upfront for an exclusive connection to SpaceX satellite services, followed by a cool $1 billion per year. I mean, why not? Who doesn’t want to power up their iPhone from the stars? But here’s the kicker: he gave Apple 72 hours to seal the deal before threatening to launch a competing feature. Talk about pressure!

In true Apple fashion, they went with a different route, opting for Globalstar instead. Rumor has it there was also a scrapped “Project Eagle” with Boeing aimed at creating a full-blown internet service. Maybe they just didn’t want to give Musk the satisfaction of grabbing the spotlight.

Before the iPhone 14 launch, though, Musk and Cook had a tête-à-tête where they presumably argued over the best way to send messages from Mars. Who knew tech titans could have such riveting discussions?

In a world where tech deals are as exciting as a football match, this one takes the cake. So, would a satellite-connected iPhone have sent you to space? Or would you have preferred a more grounded approach? Let us know below!
