Apple is stepping up its game—or its alarm clock—by making it a bit tougher to snooze your morning wake-up call. In the latest iOS 26.1 developer beta, you can forget about simply smashing that snooze button like it owes you money. Instead, you’ll have to slide to stop the alarm, making every morning feel like an obstacle course designed by your least favorite fitness influencer.

This clever tweak makes perfect sense when you consider the average human’s complete and utter devotion to hitting snooze. I mean, who among us hasn’t had a passionate relationship with our snooze button? This update could be the wake-up call (see what I did there?) we didn’t know we needed. But let’s be honest: will it make us more responsible adults, or just leave us cursing Apple while we feverishly swipe our dreams away?

So, shout out to Apple for keeping us on our toes—literally—but let’s keep our fingers crossed that they don’t start requiring us to perform acrobatics to dismiss those pesky reminders altogether. Who wants to do a handstand every morning? Just give me my coffee, Apple!
