Hold onto your lightsabers, folks! Comic-Con is giving AI art the boot from its prestigious art show, and honestly, it’s about time.

After a solid wave of disgruntled artists raised their voices louder than a T-Rex at a Jurassic Park premiere, Comic-Con realized it’s time to clear the canvas. What sparked this artful revolution? Well, it turns out that fans and creators alike weren’t too keen on munching on a buffet of machine-generated masterpieces, no matter how fancy the pixels looked.

Previously, AI images were allowed under certain conditions, but apparently, those conditions felt about as solid as a rubber dinosaur. Now, with a strict ban on any AI-generated materials, Comic-Con is putting its foot down—maybe even while wearing a pair of fancy superhero socks. But will they be able to enforce this policy? Without reliable tools to detect AI art, enforcement might turn out to be trickier than getting a cat into a bathtub.

In the end, the changes are being welcomed by the artistic community. Artists deserve to showcase their hard work without feeling like they’re on a reality show called ‘Survivor: AI Edition.’ So, here’s to Comic-Con making a stand for creativity! What do you think: is banning AI art the right call, or is it just a sci-fi sitcom waiting to happen?
