Hold onto your e-books, folks! Microsoft has decided to give the ol’ heave-ho to Word’s built-in Send to Kindle feature faster than you can say ‘I missed my deadline.’ As of February 9th, 2026, goodbye convenience and hello extra steps!

Sure, the Send to Kindle button was a nifty little gem that allowed you to zip Word documents straight to your Kindle for some light reading or deep contemplation—if you were into that kind of thing. But alas, it’s been marked for extinction, leaving us to fend for ourselves like lost puppies in the vast digital wilderness.

Now, if you want to send documents to your beloved Kindle, prepare yourself for a slight detour. You’ll have to resort to Amazon’s official Send to Kindle tool via their website. Yeah, because who doesn’t enjoy extra clicks in their life?

While we may mourn the demise of this feature like we mourned the end of our favorite TV shows (seriously, do we ever get over those?), it does leave us pondering: just how many more user-friendly features will take the fall next? Is convenience too much to ask for in the tech world?
