So here we are, folks! Microsoft is playing a game of branding hopscotch with the terms “Xbox PC” and “Xbox on PC”—and let me tell you, it’s as entertaining as watching a raccoon try to climb a greased pole. Last month, they seemed to stick a pin in one of these names, but now their own team is mixing them up like a DJ at a mix tape party!
In a recent post by Ninja Theory, Xbox’s game studio, they threw both terms into the ring like they were trying to create a new sport. Seriously, are we feeling like it’s Xbox PC or should we just pop ‘on’ in there for confusion sake? It’s like watching someone try to order a grande, no-foam, soy latte with extra whipped cream at Starbucks—what does it all even mean?
Everyone’s got their favorite; some daydream of console convenience, while others revel in the keyboard warrior life. But Microsoft’s indecisiveness begs the question: do we really need two phrases for the same thing, or have they simply run out of creative fuel?
Let’s face it, I can’t be the only one spinning in circles here, right? So, tell me—are you one for Xbox PC or does Xbox on PC tickle your fancy? Or are we all missing the larger picture as Microsoft attempts to keep us guessing?
